Mary, I really enjoy your blog. I appreciate you posting a synopsis of everyone’s blogs. It keeps me from having to check everyone’s blog individually. I have a question that I’m not sure that I have seen. My husband enjoys a good imported beer–like Heineken. Do you know if a good dark beer or beer like Heineken is available in Cuenca? Just wondering. I appreciate your info. Thanks, Sue
Hey Sue, Here is what I found out: the most popular beer (and sports sponsor) in Ecuador is Pilsener, a pale-lauger type sold in large 22-ounce bottles. An article for Pat: Beer from the Center of the Earth: Pilsener, Club, and Biela. I think that you can get imported beer but it’s going to be pricey. Mary
